Our Story
Welcome to our little space of the internet! I am a transgender woman, parent, singer/songwriter, children’s author and blogger/reviewer of all things fabulous in and around Cardiff South Wales.

Zoey
Hi! I’m Zoey, and I’m a transgender woman, wife and mother. I want you to see that we’re just a normal(ish) family raising visibility for the trans community by sharing our story. We will always aim to be visible (and vocal), and champion and support the trans and LGBTQ+ community. I hope I can show you that coming out later in life isn’t all doom and gloom. With some love and honesty, there is hope, light and love during a late transition…
I love to write songs, play guitar, and generally create music I hope you can relate to and enjoy. You can check out my post about coming out as transgender in the music industry and you can also donate to my transition fund.
I came out to me as transgender in 2019 to (my then wife) Kelly and was met with an equal balance of love and support from family and hate and disconnection from some friends. By the end of 2019 we’d won a newcomer’s blogging award, and we decided to start working on it together, as a team.
In June 2020 we began working together creating colourful statement jewellery with many pride themed pieces over at KelZo Jewellery so that we could not only fulfil our creative needs, but also offer pieces for the queer community and beyond.
As of summer 2022 Zoey and Kelly have separated with both of the children now living with Kelly just outside of Cardiff. Zoey continues to work on the social channels and blog and is now the sole creator behind KelZo Jewellery. It was a difficult move to separate, but the children are now more settled and thriving, and we can each pursue our lives with happiness and love.

George
This is George. He’s twelve years old and as wise an owl. George is always full of questions, obsessed with zombies (our fault!), loves anything to do with computers (Fortnite/Roblox) and can play for hours! He’s also a huge trans ally, and has to deal with misgendering regularly because of his gorgeous long hair.

Molly
This is Molly. She is eleven and completely adorable. Molly loves playing with Sylvanians and TY toys, singing at the top of her lungs, playing video games with her brother and Zoey, writing in her diary, and reading books. She especially loves empowering and inspirational books, and those addressing equality and gender diversity.

Our Story
For years we didn’t know Zoey was Zoey, but when she came out to us it didn’t take long for it to all fall into place. The first month was a whirlwind, with many emotions and thoughts, questions and new discoveries. George and Molly have been unbelievable, with Molly and Zoey forming an unbreakable bond since Zoey came out. And George responded in the most beautiful way – ‘If she’s happy, I’m happy.’

We’re here to shake things up. From challenging the world’s views on transgender families to enjoying our life to the full despite the negative attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve said many times to many people, ‘We’re on a rollercoaster of a ride, and I’m not getting off!’
Life is for living, and if we can help one person to live their lives their way whilst we’re on our own journey, then we’ve done something right.
We hope you enjoy our stories, anecdotes, advice, love and laughter, and we thank you for joining us for the ride.
