Your Mind is All – Anxiety & Hypnotherapy

Last year my very lovely friend started her very own hypnotherapy business, Your Mind is All. It’s clear from the name that we have the power to help heal and change for the better, using hypnotherapy and our own (very clever) minds.

I have heard of hypnotherapy and how it can help with past traumatic experiences, but I’ve never looked into it before. Then my lovely friend Kat offered to help me, and I jumped at the chance.

About Your Mind Is All

Kat is a calm and soothing person to be around, so I had no problem feeling safe and supported during each step of the process. Your Mind is All is a fantastic resource and business, focused on changing your life for the better.

Your Mind is All say:

What is holding you back from living the life you want and getting your needs met? I use a world renowned, award winning hypnotherapy programme to insure rapid transformation for you, to root out any limiting beliefs and free you from them, forever.

I really felt Kat’s energy and enthusiasm for all she does, and couldn’t wait to get started!

Step 1 – Introductory Chat & Background

We started with an introductory chat, and I had the chance to talk about my own personal anxieties and concerns. This conversation lasted about an hour, it was very detailed and I had the space to talk freely to Kat, without feeling any kind of judgement.

Step 2 – Book a Slot and Make Time!

Both the phone call and actual hypnotherapy session required me to carve out time. It’s hard when you’re busy, but it’s so important to be free and make good time for you and your needs! Kat made it all very simple and easy, and I was booked in for the following week.

Step 3 – The Plan

Before you go into the main session, Kat sends out a detailed summary of the previous phone conversation, as well as the main focus for the hypnotherapy session. This was really detailed and helpful, as it gave me a chance to focus on what we’d be doing, what was expected of me, and how it would all work.

After discussing everything with Kat, we chose to focus on my anxiety and self-belief, which seemed pretty out of reach at that point…

I also received a recording to listen to in the days leading up to the main session. I chose to play this before falling asleep at night, and it seemed to work for me doing it this way as I struggle to find spare time in the day.

Step 4 – The Hypnotherapy Session

For the session, I needed to be prepared in the following ways:

  • A quiet, undisturbed area
  • A comfortable space to lay down in
  • The laptop/webcam facing me, so Kat could interact properly
  • Tissues at hand (I cry a lot!)

The session began with Kat and I going over the various points made during the initial consultation and the plan. It felt calm and soothing, even though I was very nervous. Kat has a very calm and soothing voice/presence, so I felt relaxed enough to lie down and get into the right headspace for the hypnotherapy session.

I’m not going to go into detail regarding the things we talked about during my sessions (both on the phone call and via the video hypnotherapy session), but I can say that lots of tears were shed, and we went very deep into my personal childhood and the triggers I had brought through my life with me.

Speaking to my inner child has been something I’ve done before, and I find it so powerful. Explaining to her that she didn’t do anything wrong, and telling her I’d always take care of her, was an incredibly powerful (and emotional) experience.

Kat guided me through each step, and her gentle voice and soothing words really helped me work through so much of my inner turmoil.

When we finished, I wiped away my tears and Kat left me with kind words and the next steps…

Step 5 – The Recording

Kat sent me the recording the next day, and I then needed to make time in my day (or evening) to listen to it, without disturbance. I ended up listening in bed, before I’d drift off to sleep.

I listened to the recording for about 8 weeks, and every day I woke up feeling a little less anxious than the day before. This continued, and I particularly worked on the concept of talking to my inner child, and facing the memories of my childhood, and why they had caused so much pain.

I think that was the most beneficial part, learning to forgive myself.

Conclusion

I really felt that Kat both cared for me and my personal needs, as well as showing her passion for her work in numerous ways. We stayed in contact on and off during the 8 weeks, and I felt she was truly there if I needed her.

Kat is a caring, calm soul, and I felt at ease at every step of the journey, and I never once felt alone.
