Lunch and Shopping with Zoey
Every Saturday for the past few months, Nanny Kim has had George and Molly over for a sleepover. We are so often busy or tired, but this weekend we decided to have a well deserved shopping spree and lunch together.

We go shopping together a lot, but since Zoey came out, our shopping and restaurant trips have been full of worry (about what other people think!). This time, however, we stopped worrying about other people and we just had fun!
When we arrived in town, the first thing we wanted to do was eat! We had a mini discussion (we’re so indecisive!) about where to go, and ended up settling on the very funky Brew Dog.
Their beers are delicious and we’d tried some of their food before, so we knew we were in good hands! It was a tough decision to choose a vegan main, but in the end I plumped for their cauliflower steak burger and fries. They also gave me a pot of vegan mayo, so I was super excited!
The food arrived super fast and it was DELICIOUS! Whilst we waited, and once we started eating, we talked about how things have changed since January. How much more relaxed we are, how Brew Dog made us feel super comfortable (and safe) and how we are beginning to feel our feet as a couple again.
Once we’d filled out bellies it was time to hit the shops. We held hands and wandered around looking at dresses, shoes, sunglasses… It was so adorable spending time with her and watching her light up when she saw anything she liked. I absolutely love how happy she is, even through the tougher times of transition. We are in it together though, and it’s times like these that mean the world to us.
The moments we can be ourselves and people treat Zoey with the kindness and respect she deserves. The moments we can hold hands without stares. The moments we can laugh together and just be ourselves. It’s in these moments we can see the future, and my future is with Zoey.
